Music Ministries at First Lutheran

First Lutheran has a long history of excellent music in worship. Music Director, Kent Dennis, leads our music programs. Our organ, played by Kathie Schiermeister, plays a key role in our Sunday morning worship. Our musicians, featuring piano, drums, flute, bass guitar, violin, and trumpet, provide a more modern sound to certain hymns and songs.

Our Choir sings at the 9:30 worship service. The choir meets every Wednesday at 6:30 to rehearse, except during Lent.

The Handbell Choir plays for special services and on occasional Sundays, at the 9:30 Sunday service. The Bells practice every Wednesday at 8:00 pm, following the choir practice.

Everyone is welcome! If you would be interested in joining any of these music ministries, please contact the Church Office to get in touch with Kent Dennis.

All Lutheran Messiah

For over 90 years First Lutheran has hosted the presentation of the All Lutheran Handel’s Messiah. This annual pageant of Gospel and song takes place the first Saturday and Sunday of December, with presentations at 5 and 7:30 p.m. both evenings. It is a beautiful way to celebrate the Christmas season with family and friends. The Orchestra and Chorus begin rehearsals in late October each year in preparation. New voices are always welcome!
